Fucking pinch me, you guys. I’m an author!

Two years ago, I submitted a book proposal to Chronicle Books after months of receiving rejection letters and total silence left and right. I’d been holding off on pitching Chronicle – they were a dream publisher to me, there was no way they’d accept my manuscript. Like many of my great ideas, I said “fuck it!” I drafted up an email and I sent it to Chronicle.

Mommy Cusses was a collection of pieces I’d written over the years, beginning while sitting outside of my son’s door when he was a toddler because he wouldn’t fall asleep unless he saw some portion of my body. I’d sit against a wall in our apartment with my legs poking out in front of his doorway, and I’d write.

This book is the birth of Mommy Cusses. It’s how my blog and social media accounts got started. It’s a “pick up whenever” type book that doesn’t need to be read from cover to cover because as a parent, who has the f*cking time? It has light reads, fun interactive pages and quizzes, some of my most popular jokes sprinkled throughout, and fun illustrations from the hugely talented Paige Vickers whose fun, chaotic artistic style so perfectly complemented my writing and message.

It’ll be out on April 6th and is available for pre-order now at Amazon, Target, Walmart, Chronicle Books, and Barnes & Noble.

My father was an author who instilled in me my love for writing and drawing. He was also an old school sailor who gave me my love for swears. Before he passed away, he always pushed me to write a book and it makes me so happy, proud, grateful, everything that I finally made one of his biggest dreams for me come true. I don’t think this would quite be what he’d have in mind but as a huge jokester and prankster, I think he would get a huge kick out of this.

Thank you to the amazing funny parents I’ve met through being Mommy Cusses, anyone who reads my blog or follows my social media accounts, my amazingly supportive friends and family. And my husband and kids for giving me all of this material *wink*.
